Parental Control

In order to set and control what your kids watch on DStv, and to ensure that their tender eyes and ears are not subjected to content beyond their age group, we recommend that you make use of the parental control features available on your digital decoder.

Age Restrictions and What They Mean

• R18 - allows you to view all content
• Family - will block all content rated PG 13, 16, 18 and R18, and only programmes with a FAM rating will be available for viewing.
• PG 13 - will block all content rated 16, 18 and R18, and only programmes with a FAM or PG 13 rating will be available for viewing.
• 16 - will block all content rated 18 and R18, and only programmes with a FAM, PG 13 or 16 rating will be available for viewing.
• 18 - will block all content rated R18, and all other programmes will be available for viewing.

Set up Parental Control

Let us show you how to setup Parental Control on your Decoder

Change Your Parental Control PIN

1. Press Menu and select Parental Control.
2. Press OK.
3. Enter the default PIN 1234.
4. Select Change PIN.
5. Press OK.
6. Insert the default (1234) or your old PIN.
7. Insert your new PIN and repeat.
8. Exit.

Forgot your PIN?

If you’ve set your parental control levels, but have forgotten your PIN and need to have it reset, or if you’ve entered the incorrect PIN 5 times, please click here
